It’s official, we have all moved our clocks forward! And now my curvy friends, it’s time to move our wardrobes forward too!  So much to look forward to longer days, more sunshine, warmer temperatures and flowers. All of this so much at odds with the horrible things that have been happening in Ukraine.  Let us all hope and pray that spring will bring a resolution to that crisis soon. For us plus size girls, it’s time to move out of the darker winter shades and into colour with these great plus size spring casual outfits. My last post about transitioning to spring was all about the spring neutrals. Today I’ve decided to go bold for those gals who embrace their curves with colour.

Two Fabulous Plus Ways to Spring Forward

Plus Size Electric Blue Spring Outfit

This snakeskin print moto jacket is styled in two ways.  The first is a monochromatic look in blue. The texture in the jacket and scarf add interest to the overall look. The jacket is a great piece as it has the black side panels that add stretch and colour blocking for a comfortable and slimming silhouette. I’ve shown the jacket both open and closed so you can see what I mean. This total outfit is a few years old but something similar is available at Eloquii.

Turning Down the Voltage – A little!

Now, I can hear some of you from here saying that the colour is just too electric. Personally, I think it’s fun but for those of you

who think it’s just too much, I’ve got you covered. Let’s dial it down a notch and replace the blue t-shirt and pants with plus size straight leg black jeans and a black t-shirt. The black inserts in the jacket pull it all together for a figure flattering plus size look.  The dark colour on our curvaceous hips and legs slim them down. The shorter jacket over the black t-shirt/pants conveys the illusion of longer legs which can be further enhanced with pointed black ankle boots or shoes. The same applies to the monochromatic look of blue as well. The black jeans and t-shirt are available at Laura’s.

This season is all about bold colour. Don’t be afraid to wear brights or neon shades. Just keep a couple of tips in mind when dressing in them. Try going monochromatic – adding various textures for interest. Or build your basic uniform in your neutral shade of choice and add the bold colour with your layering pieces such as jacket and accessories.
