Plus size Bl Jeans

I don’t know about you but finding a great pair of plus size jeans has always been a challenge. The past number of years it’s been all about the skinny and jegging styles. Great for smaller size gals but not as much for us curvy girls. Is it my imagination or do the straight leg, boot cut or boyfriend cuts seem narrower than usual? Being a pear shape I carry a lot of my weight in my hips and thighs so its been a huge struggle to find the right pair that enhanced my strengths rather than highlight my weaknesses. Good news ladies 2022 is bringing us more choices in jean shapes!

I like dark denim or black jeans.  It’s the most flattering and can be worn dressy or casual which makes it a good buy. This year denim is a key trend and as a result there is a huge array of choices that include high waisted and fuller legs which is great for us plus size girls.

First, let’s go casual chic; a flattering 3/4 sleeve multi coloured t-shirt, black structured jacket and the black straight leg jean. Two

classic pieces, jean and jacket with a t shirt that adds colour, pattern and interest. The stretch fitted jacket is from Brian Bailey. A great piece for plus size women as it is ultra comfortable and moves with you. The multi coloured t shirt is Samoons Fall/Winter grouping. Add more colour with your accessories to create a flattering silhouette.

Next a comfy and casual look! This warm, cozy Vivian Shyu mustard sweater looks great with the plus size black jeans.  The mustard and black necklace is from last years Zsiska collection but Mustard is an on trend colour so you will find it in other collections too. Take the look to the next level by adding animal print flats and bag.

Another trending look built on column dressing is the combination of black t-shirt and jean. Top with one of this season’s top trends in this Tribal Reversible Animal Print Jean Jacket. This great layering jacket is two pieces in one. It is a black and grey animal print jacket that adds sophistication to the black silhouette. Reverse the jacket for a monochromatic look which elongates and slims the body further.

My last look is in one of my favourite colours – chartreuse.  I paired the same black jeans with a Marla Wynne raglan sweater layered over a mesh chartreuse turtleneck. A completely different look that really highlights the pop of colour. The necklace follows thru on the colour. I like to pair this with black military boots that way you carry on a long, lean silhouette. These ones are from Ron White, the quilting and hardware on the boot add interesting texture. Keep the colour going with a chartreuse bag!

Well that’s my five looks shopped out of my closet for these great plus size black straight leg jeans. You can see they can be easily dressed up or down by what you mix and match them with. I hope you enjoyed the various looks. I’m sure if you shop your closet you too will put together the same number of looks, if not more using your wardrobe.
